Eqwal is delighted to inform you that we have completed the acquisition of Sodimed and Medisek (www.sodimed.be).
Founded in 1979, Sodimed distributes medical equipment for private customers, healthcare professionals, retirement homes and hospitals all over Belgium. The group is a specialist in mobility, but also supplies medical equipment for the disabled and incontinent. In June 2022, Sodimed acquires Medisek to develop the Flemish market.
Sodimed employs c.27 colleagues based in Herstal, in a vast bulding used as a store and warehouse.
David Schnitzeler, owner of Sodimed and Medisek, said: “Our desire to join a group already present in several sectors of the medical field and which shares our values, naturally encouraged us to choose Eqwal. Our collaboration with Aqtor (Eqwal Patient Care Belgium) will enable us to expand our business sectors, bring our strength as a medical wholesaler within the group and find synergies between the different entities.”
With this acquisition, Eqwal strengthens its position in mobility, medical equipment, ostomy, and home improvements for the disabled.
