Eqwal Foundation committed to handisport mobility

Since 1985, the Departmental Handisport Committee of Haute-Garonne (CDH31) has been working to develop and ensure the proper functioning of sports activities for people with physical disabilities or sensory impairments throughout the department. It supports participants in accessing adapted, safe, and fulfilling sports activities.

Chaired since 2024 by Sabine Salmon, the committee continues its commitment to making sport accessible to as many people as possible. For CDH31, disability should never be a barrier to sports participation. This is why particular attention is given to equipment accessibility and safety conditions, in order to meet the needs of each participant.

Each season, numerous outdoor activities are offered: aerial sports such as paragliding, water-based activities, as well as motorized or underground outings like quad biking or caving. These are all opportunities to discover new sensations, share meaningful moments, and enjoy friendly experiences that are accessible to everyone.

The role of Eqwal Foundation

The values upheld by the Departmental Handisport Committee, and shared by Eqwal Foundation, naturally led to a collaboration between the two organizations. Following this meeting, Eqwal Foundation wished to support CDH31 in the acquisition of electric all-terrain wheelchairs (FTT).

Thanks to this equipment, the committee will be able to enable many people with disabilities to take part in outdoor activities safely. It is a wonderful opportunity to experience the joys of the outdoors, combining personal challenge with moments of sharing alongside other participants.

The committee is already planning outings for 2026, and we look forward to sharing feedback from the very first participants!
