Eqwal welcomes its new legal and compliance director

We are delighted to announce the arrival of Julien Comet to Eqwal as Legal & Compliance Director, effective December 2, 2024. Julien pursued his academic journey in international business law in Toulouse (DJCE), Montpellier, and Uppsala (Sweden), then completed a specialized master's degree in law and management at ESSEC before passing the CAPA (French bar exam) in Paris in 2005, earning the title of lawyer. He also obtained a Compliance certificate from Dauphine in 2020.

Julien began his career as a legal counsel at L’Oréal Group in Paris and as a lawyer at Anglo-Saxon firms such as LINKLATERS in Luxembourg and FRESHFIELDS BRUCKHAUS DERINGER in Paris, where he developed extensive expertise in corporate law, securities law, and M&A.

He spent eight years in the Legal & Compliance Department at AIRBUS SAS headquarters in Toulouse as a Senior Legal Counsel. In 2017, he joined Groupe SEB in Lyon as Head of Corporate Legal, Securities Law & Compliance, managing a team of five lawyers. Subsequently, in 2021, he became Corporate Legal, Litigation & International Director at CMA CGM Group in Marseille, leading a team of ten people.

Based at the Group’s international headquarters in Toulouse, Julien is a member of Eqwal’s Executive Committee and reports directly to the President, Jean-Pierre Mahé.
