Eqwal’s development in Germany continues with the integration of Orthopädie-Technik Kurtze GmbH into its Patient Care division.

Founded in 1910 in Munich under the name HABERMANN Orthopädietechnik, the company initially focused on prosthetics and orthotics. In 1985, Hermann Kurtze acquired the company after having managed it for several years, leading to the creation of the current Orthopädie-Technik Kurtze GmbH, run by Hermann, Christel, and Thomas Kurtze. In 2003, Thomas Kurtze took over the business from his father.

This long-established family-owned company now operates three branches in Germany and employs 61 people. Orthopädie-Technik Kurtze GmbH provides orthopaedic services and medical equipment in several cities across Bavaria.

Thomas Kurtze remains managing director of Orthopädie-Technik Kurtze GmbH and is looking forward to the partnership with Eqwal. Thomas Kurtze was supported in the transaction by Lips, Pantenburg und Partner GmbH.
This acquisition strengthens Eqwal’s presence in Germany and supports its strategy to build a connected and high-performing clinical network across the country.

“I am very pleased to welcome Thomas Kurtze and his teams to the Eqwal Group. This new addition in Germany strengthens our presence in the country and allows us to further expand our local orthopaedic care network. It fully aligns with our mission: to provide patients with high-quality solutions based on clinical expertise, innovation, and personalized support throughout their care journey.” - Jean-Pierre Mahé, Président d’Eqwal
